Aging and Thriving Together!

Excited to continue connecting and playfully exploring this month’s topic “Health and Wellness, Loving Our Body As We Age.”

What makes your body come alive as your age?

What might become possible if we stopped treating our bodies as problems to solve and started treating them as partners for the rest of our lives, bodies we are willing to listen to?

Pirie shared this great article (thank you Pirie 🥰) from Substack!

Approaching or having arrived at the gate of Elderhood

Oftentimes we unthinkingly accept the images of aging propagated by our culture, seeding our bodies and minds with the expectation of sliding into a weak and socially useless old age.

“From Aging to Saging”

If you find yourself at the threshold of elderhood, oftentimes considered the September, October or November of your life, and if the quote above intrigues you, we’d love to have you join us!

Spend some time in the next couple of weeks exploring the question, “How do I feel about aging?” What do you look forward to and what do you fear?

Hope to connect with you all soon! If you’re interested in dropping in our Group gathers on the second Thursday of every month from

2-3:30 in Jayne Hall. Our next meeting is February 12, 2026.

For anyone looking to reflect in different ways on Aging and Elderhood, here’s a good article from Marc Cooper.

Post surgery

I had back surgery yesterday.

Before surgery I read the daily meditation in the book by Louise Hay’s “Trust Life”. Louise was truly a pioneer in aging gratefully and thriving all the way through.

I ignite my life every time I do something new.

Daring to step into a new space is so exciting.

I know that good lies before me so I am ready for whatever Life has in store for me.

New adventures keep us young.

We’re excited to be co-creating this new group!

We ask: “Elderhood” or simply “older”?

Our intention is to gather monthly to explore the skillful means of transformative aging. We reframe stereotypes of what it means to “be an old person” and honor the wisdom and experience we have lived on our journey up to now. We intend to “harvest the gifts” of the

journey, understanding that it is a privilege to grow into elderhood.

Knowing that social engagement and support is true medicine for aging gratefully, we long to experience deeper connections, movement, play and joyful engagement.

Thanks for setting this up Deb Kulcsar. We are so blessed to be in this community as we age more gracefully together and deepen our relations to support one another on the journey of life.
