Hanging Out In Person (Edited)

Hey All,

Due to another death in my family, I have to change my plan to be at the District in Lafayette from 1-4 PM on Tuesday, February 17 to February 24 at those times. On that day, I will hang out with anyone who wants to stop by. The District is the plaza where Otis Coffee and Button Rock Bakery are. We can use the time however you would like. However, some of the things that are top of the mind for me are:

  • Consciousness - As you know, we talked about this on Zoom recently and it was the theme of the film, Who We Are, that the Belonging Project hosted.

  • Prayer - I would love to just have open conversations about people's perspectives on prayer in its many many forms and expressions.

  • Spiritual journeys - So many of us have come to Unity from a variety of paths. It is always fun to learn about what brought people to Unity and what keeps them showing up.

  • Spirituality and Justice - what does it mean to live in the knowledge of our essential Oneness when we see people expressing division?

And we also could just get to know each other. I am going to do this on other days as well. But, I wanted to start with the folks I interact with on here first. I would like to put some faces with some of the names.

If you are certain that you will come by and want to let me know in advance, please email me at pedro@columbineunity.org. But, you can always just feel free to pop up.

Additionally, I wanted to remind folks who may not have done the survey yet that we are still receiving input and that your input goes a long way to helping us shape the future. The link is below.

The Future Is Calling You By Name: Realizing a Shared Future Now
Unity Columbine Spiritual Center (CSC) is more than just an organization It is a living, breathing circle of shared values and growth in spiritual awareness practiced in a community with an increasingly diverse population. At our core, we are a community that encourages and supports individual and community thriving on every level. And we know that communication is a vital part of fostering an environment conducive to the fulfillment of these aspirations. In 2022, the CSC Community launched a strategic planning initiative to help us answer three important questions: Who are we? What are our visions for our future? How will we bring these visions into fruition? Looking back on that initiative we can see that tremendous progress has been made in key areas. And we are so grateful. But progress is a continual iterative journey–one of imagining, realizing, and then reimagining. This is where we are now. It is time to reimagine. As we look toward the future, we want to ensure our path forward is paved by the collective wisdom, dreams, and needs of everyone who calls CSC their spiritual home. Our scope will be for the next 3 years and will have the following three focal points: Where are we now? Help us understand our current strengths and the areas where we might be falling short of our mission. Where are we going? Share your vision for what we can become and the impact you want us to have on your personal life. How do we get there? Give us practical insights into the priorities, resources, and changes needed to make our near future a reality. Your voice is essential to this process. This survey will take approximately 10–15 minutes. Thank you for your time, your heart, and your commitment to our shared journey. With gratitude, The Staff and Board Unity Columbine Spiritual Center

I look forward to connecting with you all. And if this time doesn't work and you want to connect some other time, just let me know.

Sincere regards,

Pedro
