How Can We Be of Service?

In this quick video, I ask the simple question, “How can I be of service?”

At its ideal, I would like folks to see this group as an open door to be a contribution to each other’s spiritual growth.

So, how can we make that happen? I’m open to suggestions and invitations. For example if anyone wanted to request a gathering or Zoom call or something to discuss a spiritual take on a current challenge, we can do that. If folks are reading something they think others could benefit from, they can share that.

Ultimately, the intent is to serve. And if it isn’t, what could?

Sending love

I was thinking about this a little more after I posted just a couple minutes ago. My thoughts were more about what are some ideas. When I was going through my cancer journey all of 2025, I posted updates about once a week in a software program called CaringBridge.org. I had a number of people that had joined my caring bridge some from the Columbine community and some from other places. After I posted, I got very positive support from everyone who was part of my caring bridge and that really helped me as I went through the treatments and it helped me when I was emotionally low. I’m wondering if there’s something we can do similar to a caring bridge and it doesn’t have to just be about healthcare issues that way people that need some support others can give positive feedback. I don’t know if that’s even possible through something like breeze or even in this app that we’re talking in right now. A second idea might be to have some sort of life challenge talks around topics like career stress, or family conflict. Participants could bring a challenge and get a quick prayer and a practical idea. We could keep them till like 15 minutes and announce the theme and ask people to write a one sentence ask in the chat before the meeting starts. That could help people prepare and reduce the on the spot pressures that so many folks have. The topics could also be about spiritual growth - what comes to mine right away or the four agreements by Dan Miguel Ruiz. The one I always have a struggle with in those four agreements is don’t take anything personally. Maybe that could be a topic. I’m just brainstorming with you.

No Joys Are Ever Lost

In this community, we have so many resources to connect us to the reality that nothing that has ever brought us joy is ever lost. Among those resources are the reading materials and the talks and little pamphlets like the one i reference in the video. But the greatest resource is each other. One of the joys that I discovered in this place is that at any moment I feel like I can talk to any person and be in a conversation about the highest possibilities in life. Where else can that be normalized besides a community that encourages us to remember who we are? In many of my experiences talk like that was relegated to special relationships. But here we speak the language of possibilities. And from that place, we are reminded that no good is ever lost. As eternal beings having a human experience, we have access to…
